Hello Vlad,



My name is Octávio and I am a modeller from Portugal. I am currently trying to build a Fleet 10 G (1/72 scale). Portugal used at least 3 versions of Fleet:

- Fleet 10B
- Fleet 10G
- Fleet 16D


They were used by the navy having most of the times floats. During the construction of my model a question was put about the real size of the Fleet 10G. I searched the internet but the dimensions I found are not very accurate. In length it seems that Fleet 10 G shoulg measure 6,88 meters but according to various portuguese books the length given is 7,29 meters.
Since the Military museum in Bucharest has a Fleet 10G I tried to send an email to confirm the dimensions of the Fleet but there mail is not working.

Then I found your construction of the fleet 10G and I would like to ask you if you have any information you can give me in terms of plans and dimensions of the Fleet 10G preserved in the musuem.

Dear Mr Vlad,


I am a potuguese modeler and I am currently building a Fleet 10G (in 1/72 scale). You see Portgual also used Fleet biplanes (by the Navy), mainly versions 10B, 10G and 16D.

While starting to build Fleet 10G I started to have questions about the real length of Fleet 10 G. You see most of our portuguese references state that all the Fleets used in the navy had a length of 7,29 meters, but according to a Canadian book the length of the Fleet 10G should be 6,88 meters.
Since the is very few information about his airplane i started to search the internet and found the the Military museum in Romenia had a Fleet 10G. I tried to send an email but the eamil is not working.

Today I found your post and since you are building a Fleet 10G I would like to know if you have any information you can give me, especially the real dimensions of the Fleet 10 G at the museuam. I would also be intersted in plans ans photos.

I see your messages in this morning.
The original Fleet 10 G imported by Romania from U.S.A., with Kinner K-5, 115HP radial engine, ........ possible lenght .........6.88m.
The Fleet 10 G buildet by licennce in Romania (SET Bucharest), with De Havilland GYPSI MAJOR 130 HP linne engine..........lenght .....7,29m.


My project is I.A.R.-27 on 1/10 scale.
The I.A.R.-27 it was develop from Fleet 10 G on I.A.R.(ROMANIAN AERONAUTICAL INDUSRY) in Brasov.
I do not have plans for Fleet 10 G but I send to you on your e-mail, plans and some specifications for I.A.R.-27.

Fisrt of all I would like to apologyze for posting my question twice (I did not notice it had been posted the fisrt time). Second I thank you very much for your quick reply. I would also like to apologyze for not seeing you are building a IAR 27 monoplane and not a Fleet 10G.

As for the fuselage lenghts I think (but am not sure) that the length of the IAR 27 was greater than that of the Fleet 10G. How much should I subtract from the IAR 27 the fuselage length to obtain the Fleet 10G length?

I.A.R.-27 engine I.A.R.6G1 (licennce GYPSI MAJOR) 180 HP, lenght.........7,41m.

I don^,t know who has plans for Fleet 10 G.

Hi Octavio.
I have some IAR 27 blueprints but until you gather those 10 posts and activate the PM function it's a little hard to communicate without a mail adress.
I was even trying to log in to you're forum, but untill now, still not receiving an answer or a confirmation from the administrator.
